About

The Baca Grande is a large covenant-controlled subdivision of roughly 14,000 acres at about 8,000 feet on the western flank of the Sangre de Cristo range near Crestone, in unincorporated Saguache County, Colorado. It comprises approximately 4,200 lots across five subdivisions served by about 90 miles of mostly dirt roads, with roughly 900 homes. Off-grid, alternative, and owner-built construction is common, though regulated by the property owners' association; utilities are available in parts of the platted area.
