About

Zuni Mountain Sanctuary sits on a little over 300 acres at 7,200 feet in the Zuni Mountains near Ramah, New Mexico, with arroyos cutting through the property. The sanctuary runs on off-grid systems, including a solar water heater that supplies hot water during daylight hours on sunny days and dry toilets in place of conventional plumbing. It is a 501c3 nonprofit governed by consensus, with its board and committees drawn from the community itself, and it offers land-based space for stewardship, permaculture and retreat.
