Rural Subdivision

About

Ainaloa is a Puna District subdivision on Hawaii Island with 3,637 lots, most about 12,000 square feet, sitting in Lava Zone 3 and bordering Hawaiian Acres and Orchidland Estates, with a mix of paved and graded roads. The household water source is rooftop rain catchment since county water service does not exist, and septic tanks are required; overhead electricity reaches much of the subdivision though some areas rely on independent solar. The community association levies annual dues for road maintenance.
